Mutants Reworked
Rebalances mutant health, abilities, and resistances for a more immersive and fair combat experience. Encounters are faster, less frustrating, and better aligned with the game’s pacing without removing the challenge.
This mod rebalances mutants in Stalker 2 to provide a more immersive and fair gameplay experience. It reduces health and resistances for many common and advanced mutants to make combat feel more responsive and less bullet-spongy. Several abilities have been tweaked to enhance balance—such as cooldown adjustments, damage reworks, and the removal or refinement of frustrating mechanics like excessive knockdowns or weapon disarms. Just things that personally absolutely drove me crazy while playing.

Update 1.1:
-Changed Deer Summon Ability Cooldown back to 20
-Removed Knockdowns from Deer attacks
-Deer now summons 4 Psy Phantoms instead of the dog, boar and tushkano mutants
Changes:
Blind Dog
-Health reduced by 10%
Bloodsucker
-Health reduced by 20%
-Bloodsuckers should be able to trigger anomalies now
-Jump attack Knockdown disabled
-Jump attack damage increased from 32 to 40
-Run Attack damage increased from 23 to 25
-Claw Attack damage decreased from 18 to 16
-Removed Aimblocking and weapon sway from Bloodsucker roar. It will now only blur your vision, block jumping, sprinting and slightly shake your camera. (Camera shake might be removed if wanted)
Boar
-Health reduced by 30%
-Increased walk speed from 180.f to 200.f
-Increased Run speed from 535.f to 555.f
-Increased sprint speed from 750.f to 800.f
Burer
-Health Reduced by 15%
-Strike Protection lowered from 4 to 3
-Weapon Steal attack Cooldown increased from 8 to 15
Bayun
-Health reduced by 20%
-Claw Attack bleed chance Increment increased form 0.5f to 0.6f, damage increased from 1o to 12. Armor piercing decreasd from 3.f to 2.f
-Jump Attack Damage decreased from 24 to 20 but bleed chance Increment increased from .5f to .8f
-Turn Attack bleed chance increment increased from 0.5f to 0.6f
-Slightly increased the min value for Bayun sleep aura effect
Chimera
-Health Reduced by 25%
Controller
-Health Reduced by 10%
-Psy Strike cooldown duration increased from 12 to 15
-Increased Psy Aura damage max value to 1.2 from 1.0
-Increases Psy buildup from Psy Aura from 3.0f to 3.3f
Deer
-Health reduced by 15%
-Strike Protection reduced from 3.0 to 2.0
-Deer Summon Ability Cooldown increased from 20 to 25
Flesh
-Health reduced by 30%
-Strike resistance reduced from 1.0 to 0
-Increased retreat radius
-Reduced Damage Accumulated to retreat from 140.f to 80.f
-Removed Stagger from Flesh jumping attack
-Strike Attack damage reduced from 10 to 7
-Turn Attack damage reduced from 20 to 16
Poltergeist
-Health reduced by 20%
-Shield Ability Cooldown reduced from 20 to 13
-Activate Anomaly Cooldown reduced from 3 to 2
-Increased range of Poltergeist throwing ability activation from 200 to 250 on the X-Axis
Pseudo Dog
-Reduced Health by 15%
-Reduced Strike Protection from 3.0 to 1.5
-Doubled the Cooldown for Summoning Ability
Pseudogiant
-Reduced Health by 12.5%
-Reduced Strike Protection from 4.0 to 1.0
-Removed Knockdown from Shockwave Attack
Snork
-Reduced Strike resistance from 3.0 to 2.0
-Removed bleeding chance from kick attack
-Increased Jump Attack damage from 25 to 30
Installation Instructions:
Download the Mod
Ensure you have the latest version of the mod archive (ZIP or RAR) downloaded to your computer.
Extract the Files
Locate Your Stalker 2 Game Directory
Typically found in one of the following paths, depending on where you installed the game:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\STALKER 2
C:\XboxGames\STALKER 2
Or your custom install location
Install the Mod Files
the mod uses.pak files:
Place the modname.pak
file into the ~mods older (create it if it doesn’t exist) inside the game directory.
Compatibility:
Needs a config merge with anything editing EffectPrototypes.cfg or any files related to mutants, otherwise this or the other mod wil not funtion
