Flics Realistic Fall Damage Rework
This mod was made to adjust the fall damage to make it feel more like a video game, while maintaining a sense of Realism the devs had a vision for.

We all noticed issues with fall damage. Sometimes it makes sense, a lot of times it does not. I discovered an issue with the calculation for Fall Damage when the SDK released. This issue is an easy oversight but due to it we get wonky deaths from falls that don’t make sense…
What this mod does is removes that issue, how ever it does not make the game any easier in the sense of removing or fully reducing Fall Damage. I just focused on making it have a bit more sense to it.. This is a video game after all and a 23.5ft drop in game seems like a small ledge, I essentially doubled this and introduced dmg thresholds those changes can be read below
Changes to Fall Damage made
Base System:
Modified the vanilla fall damage implementation to better balance realism with player experience.
Curve Adjustments:
Reworked the fall damage curve for smoother scaling between low and high falls.
Reduced sharp damage spikes in mid-range fall distances to create a more predictable progression.
Damage Nodes:
Introduced new HP damage thresholds for more granular injury handling:
10, 25, 40, 60, 75, 80, 91, 98, and Death.
Each threshold corresponds to a specific damage multiplier and fall distance range.
Design Philosophy:
Preserved core developer intent for realistic fall outcomes.
Slightly tuned the system to feel more “video game” — providing challenge without making minor falls overly punishing.
Compatibility Notes:
Built to be drop-in compatible with existing vanilla systems.
Does not alter unrelated player damage calculations.
This is a Beta Version 1.0 Please feel free to provide feedback! As it currently stands the Fall Damage testing I’ve done has shown results that I personally enjoy, This is not to make life super easy when falling accidently, nor does it provide immunity to fall damage. The Mod is compatible with every mod that does not adjust fall damage.
