NPC Flashlight Visibility Enhanced v1.1.1
Improves NPC visibility at night by enhancing their flashlights. Adds a visible glow to the flashlight source and strengthens the light beam, making NPCs easier to spot in the darkness.
If the player’s flashlight can be enhanced – so can the NPCs’.
NPC Flashlight Visibility Enhanced gives NPC flashlights the presence they always should have, making nighttime encounters more readable, tense, and immersive.
Introduction
Hello stalkers,
In the vanilla game, NPCs at night are often difficult to see. Their flashlights appear as small white dots on their foreheads with no visible glow. While the game uses a subtle secondary light to make NPCs torso slightly more visible, it is usually not enough, especially during firefights behind cover, trees, shrubs, etc.
Building upon the ideas introduced in Classic Trilogy Flashlight – Enhanced, this mod brings the same level of visual clarity from the player to NPCs, improving nighttime readability without sacrificing immersion. This mod improves the visual presence of NPC flashlights to make nighttime gameplay clearer and more natural, while retaining the original atmosphere.
Features
– (v1.0) Added headlamp glare: Adds a subtle glare/glow/lens flare effect to the flashlight lamp itself. This removes the unnatural “unlit white dot on the forehead” look and makes NPCs easier to recognize and track in the dark, especially from a distance. The effect dynamically scales with distance, becoming minimal when you are close to an NPC so their face remains clearly visible during dialogue, and growing more pronounced at range to help you spot enemies and track their positions during nighttime encounters and firefights.
– (v1.0) Improved beam visibility: Strengthens the visible light beam traveling through the air. The beam is now more noticeable and consistent, and no longer disappears when approaching NPCs from medium range. It only fades when you are very close, ensuring conversations and interactions remain clear.
